During our conversation, Andrés explored the concept of interoception and why cultivating deep bodily awareness is essential for optimal health and performance.


Interoception is the process by which our nervous system senses, interprets, and integrates signals from within the body—such as heartbeat, breath, hunger, and thirst. This internal awareness is vital for maintaining homeostasis and plays a central role in emotional regulation and overall well-being.


While wearable technology offers valuable insights through physiological data, Preschel emphasizes the importance of using this information to strengthen intuitive connection with the body. By bridging objective data with subjective experience, individuals can develop a deeper sense of self-awareness—leading to improved self-regulation and long-term health outcomes. Over time, this intuitive connection can reduce dependence on external measurements.


Andrés believes interoception is a fundamental human right. He encourages everyone to understand their physiology—the science that shapes who they are. Interoception, he explains, is key to emotional balance and empowered decision-making.


From Wearables to Wisdom


Andrés shared how he personally uses wearable technology, like the Whoop, to track recovery and physiological responses. These tools allow him and his clients to see how choices—from workouts to sleep habits—affect the body in real time.


But here’s what stood out: data is only the beginning. Andrés emphasizes curiosity over perfection. Metrics should inspire reflection, not obsession.


By combining internal awareness with wearable tech and lab testing, individuals can “discover their science,” elevate performance, and take control of their health on an entirely new level.


Key Biomarkers That Matter


When we talked about biometrics, Andrés highlighted the importance of genetic tests, comprehensive blood panels, and microbiome evaluations. These aren’t meant to overwhelm—they’re tools to inform, not define, your wellness path.


Some of the most important biomarkers to track:


  • HRV (Heart Rate Variability): a window into nervous system health

  • VO₂ Max: a powerful indicator of fitness and longevity

  • Sleep Efficiency: foundational to everything from hormone regulation to brain performance

High achievers often ignore these basics, he said. Yet optimizing them is essential if we want to sustain peak performance over time.


Rethinking Food and Hormones


When I asked about nutrition, Andrés called out a common trap: eating while distracted. He encouraged mindful meals, free from screens and work, to support digestion and cognitive clarity.


His dietary principles are inspired by the Mediterranean style—nutrient-dense, protein-forward, and flexible. When it comes to hormone health, he prefers optimization through lifestyle over replacement therapies. Movement, recovery, and proper nourishment often yield more sustainable results, especially for men wanting to boost testosterone naturally.


Where to Start: Actionable Advice for Your Journey


If you're ready to begin your journey toward self-discovery and self-mastery, Andrés offers a science-backed, highly personalized roadmap through his platform, Know Your Physio. His approach starts with deep diagnostics and is built on trusted relationships—not just data points.


Start with a comprehensive genetic test. Andrés recommends an extremely thorough genetic test that not only reveals predispositions but also provides actionable insights. It delivers personalized recommendations across nutrition, supplementation, and lifestyle. To take it a step further, clients can be paired with a geneticist.


Follow up with an advanced blood panel. This is no ordinary blood test—it involves drawing nearly 30 vials to assess 150+ biomarkers, offering a deeper look than even the most popular platforms like Function Health. Andrés prefers a more boutique, relationship-driven model, where he gets to know his clients’ lives, challenges, and goals on a personal level. This trust allows him to deliver insights that are truly aligned with each individual’s context.


Integrate wearable technology. For daily metrics and long-term tracking, Andrés typically sets clients up with a Whoop or Oura Ring—depending on their goals and gender.

  • For men, Whoop is often the preferred choice due to its superior ability to track cardiovascular performance and VO₂ max during exercise.

  • For women, the Oura Ring is excellent for monitoring temperature and hormonal cycles, providing powerful insight into monthly rhythms and recovery.


Make sure to include the picture with the DEXA scan. To round out the foundation, Andrés includes a DEXA scan to assess body composition, bone density, and metabolic health.


His process goes far beyond standard protocols—it’s about cultivating a trusted, personalized relationship where both practitioner and client work together toward peak performance and long-term vitality.


His Advice:

  • Build a system of feedback that reflects who you are.
